Tammy's Graduation Poem

Tammy our first born, graduated on May 21, 1999. Here is the poem I wrote for her!




NEAR TO OUR HEARTS


You’ve waited years for this special day
And now it’s finally come your way
Through happiness, tears, and sometimes pain
Now the future is yours to gain

As you venture out upon your own
I wonder where the years have gone
From baby, toddler, adolescent, & teen
A beautiful woman is now to be seen

We give you this treasure, a golden heart
To remind you of home, when we’re miles apart
God will keep you safe and watch over you
If you trust in him as you always do

So go forth now, you’ve made us proud
And don’t just mingle in the crowd
Be strong and happy, plan your future
Life is such a great adventure

Study hard, but have some fun
Your adult life is just begun
Trust in God and keep your faith
Good things come to those who wait

I close this poem with all our love
With prayers for blessings from above
You’ll always be so special and dear
And in our hearts we’ll keep you near.
