Tammy & Cory Wedding Poem

This is a poem I wrote for Tammy & Cory on their wedding day, June 9, 2001.

THE DAY YOU WED

Sweet Tammy, it's so hard to say
The words to you, this special day.
You were born to us twenty years ago
Our sweet little girl, so precious to hold.

Now you’re a woman, on your wedding day.
So sweet and precious still.
Time has gone, oh, too fast
Our hearts, with love, you've filled.

So on this day, the day you wed,
I want to tell you, dear,
We're so very proud of all you are,
So listen now, you hear!

You'll always be our baby girl,
to love, and rock, and hold.
We'll always love and care for you,
Won't matter if your old.

But on this day, the day you wed,
We just wanted to let you know,
We've not lost you, we've gained a son,
See now, our family grows.

You met the one love of your life
One evening in the fall,
You both fell head over heals in love,
You gave your life, your all.

You've chosen well, your mate for life
I totally agree.
He's sweet and loving, tender too.
Your love will always be.

He's kind and caring, perfect for you,
He'll make your life complete.
Your love is strong, your life fulfilled,
The future yours to greet.

May your life be rich with laughter,
Always turn to God above,
He will bless you with a family,
Joy, and Happiness, Peace and Love,

So take this day, the day you wed,
and make it yours to treasure.
Have fun and keep it in your heart,
for these memories can't be measured.

When we can't be there, don't forget,
We're with you in our hearts.
We'll always love and cherish you
Even when we're far apart.

So we give this poem, the day you wed,
With blessings from above,
To you, sweet Tammy and Cory so dear,
From Mom and Dad with love.
