This is another poem I wrote for a dear friend when their son passed away. He was born just a couple of months before Tammy, so they were very close in age. He was an active, typical little 3 year old, when he became ill with encephalitis, which cause brain damage and he was in a wheelchair thereafter. He lived until he was 18, I think, if not, I appologize, time goes too fast, so I may be off a year or so. His mom and dad were truly awesome and were wonderful caregivers as long as he was here on his earthly home. I know they miss him terribly, but have the comfort and peace of knowing he is their little angel who watches over them now. This is called "Randy".
RANDY
I remember well when you were born
So tiny and so cute.
Your mom and dad, so proud of you,
Your brother was a hoot!
Then one day, God changed the plan
He had set out for you.
We know not his thoughts on this
Things meant for you to do.
You fell ill, were not the same,
Could not walk or run.
But mom and dad, they never changed
You're still their little one.
God's plan, we do not know,
But we can see the love,
He taught you all to care so much,
From his mansion up above.
You all pitched in and helped a lot
When Randy was so ill.
You always had the love to share,
Not an easy job to fill.
Now sweet Randy, that you're gone,
To Heaven up above,
We here on earth remember you
With kindness and with love,
God keeps you safe; you're in his arms,
Now you can walk and run.
There is no pain, no sickness now,
Just laughter, joy, and fun.
So, mom and dad, remember,
Randy's happy now.
He's watching over you this time
It's time to take your bow.
You all took such great care of him,
The whole time he was ill,
We'll never know the heavenly plan,
It was all in God's will.
So smile up to the heavens
Send Randy lots of love,
For he's surely smiling down on you,
His mom and dad, with love.
